As part of the on-going development of Ishikawa, infrastructure improvement of transportation network throughout the area has been going on continuously. In addition to an expressway system for rapid land transportation, construction is underway for the new, high-speed “Hokuriku Shinkansen” railway line.
The Port of Kanazawa and The Port of Nanao are international trade ports and both freight and passenger ships call on these ports with high frequency.
As far as the air access is concerned, Ishikawa has two airports, namely, Komatsu Airport and newly opened Noto Airport; the airport of Komatsu is the largest Japanese airport situated on the Sea of Japan side.
